NextUp Documentation

Your team's task and focus manager — AI captures action items from your email and Teams messages, then helps you prioritise what matters most.

Getting Started

Creating your first task

Add tasks directly in NextUp, or connect Microsoft 365 or Google under Settings > Integrations so AI can capture action items from your email and Teams messages automatically. Captured tasks appear in your list within 60 seconds.

Setting up Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace

Microsoft 365 requires your IT admin to grant OAuth permissions for the SuiteCorn app in Azure AD. Google Workspace connects via standard Google OAuth — no admin approval is required for personal accounts. Both sync calendar events and flagged/starred emails as tasks.

Understanding the task list

Tasks are ranked by AI priority score (0–100). Items from high-urgency sources — flagged emails, overdue calendar events, urgent Teams mentions — float to the top automatically. Click any task to expand its detail panel and mark it complete.

Projects & Boards

Creating a project

Go to Boards and click "+ New Project" to create a shared project for your team. Every new project starts with three default columns — To Do, In Progress, and Done.

Adding and assigning a task

Open a project's board and click "+ New Task" to add a task with a title, description, due date, priority, and an assignee from your organization. Unassigned tasks are shown as such until someone claims them.

Moving a task between columns

Use the "Move to →" button on any task card to shift it into a different column. Moving a task into the Done column marks it complete; moving it back out clears that.

Core Features

AI daily insights

Each morning, NextUp generates a plain-language summary of your day: what's due, what's overdue, and what can be safely deprioritised. The insight card appears at the top of your task list and refreshes at 8 AM in your local timezone.

Quick task creation

Press N on any page to open the quick-add box. Type a task name, optionally press Tab to set a due date, then press Enter. Quick tasks are added to NextUp only — they are not synced back to any external tool.

Email tasks

When connected to Gmail or Outlook, emails you flag or star are pulled into NextUp as tasks. The email subject line becomes the task title. Click the task to open the original email in a side panel without leaving NextUp.

Calendar events

Calendar events due today appear as read-only tasks in your list. Marking them complete in NextUp does not modify your calendar — the event remains in your calendar source unchanged. This is intentional to avoid accidental calendar edits.

Integrations

Microsoft 365

Connect via Settings > Integrations > Microsoft 365. Requires an organisational M365 account. Syncs Outlook flagged emails and Microsoft Planner tasks assigned to you.

Google Workspace

Connect via Settings > Integrations > Google Workspace. Syncs Gmail starred emails and Google Tasks. No admin approval required for standard Google accounts.

Microsoft Teams

Connected as part of your Microsoft 365 integration. AI scans messages and mentions for action items and commitments, and captures them as tasks automatically.

Troubleshooting

Tasks not loading

Pull-to-refresh on mobile or press R on desktop to force a sync. If tasks still don't appear, disconnect and reconnect the affected integration from Settings > Integrations. If the issue persists across all integrations, clear your browser cache and reload.

Integration not connecting

Ensure you have the correct permissions in the source platform. For M365, contact your IT admin to confirm the SuiteCorn app has not been blocked in Azure AD. For Google Workspace, try disconnecting and reconnecting from Settings > Integrations.

AI insight not generating

AI insights require at least 3 tasks in your list to generate a meaningful summary. If your list is empty or the insight card doesn't appear, check that your integrations are syncing correctly first. Insights are generated at 8 AM — if you're checking before then, they'll appear the following morning.
